Kakie is an executive MBA Graduate from The Opus College of Business at The University of St. Thomas, (a top 25% tier institution), with a BA in business management and communications, also from St. Thomas. Kakie has also done speaking engagement about topics that include leadership, business planning, personal branding in a changing global world, social media, publishing and more.

From 2005-December of 2012, Kakie was Vice President and Founding Partner of a children’s publishing and product company, Farmer’s Hat Productions. Together with her friend and business partner, she co-created Bur Bur and Friends, a cast of diverse characters who teach kids about sports and outdoors. She is a recipient of the following awards:
